Three new Owls join the high school coaching staff!
Our former freshman coach, Dustin George, has taken on the position of Head Varsity Basketball Coach with Wood Memorial High School. Coach George will do a fantastic job leading their program.
Joining the Owls as the new freshman coach is Mr. Dwayne Williams. Coach Williams comes to Seymour after a long career in California and Arizona, where we was a Varsity Head Coach and a college assistant. Coach Williams has family in the Columbus area, which is what brought he and his wife back to Indiana. We look forward to all he will bring to the table!
Our former Junior Varsity Coach, Buddy Hall, has decided to step away from coaching to watch his youngest daughter Alivia go through high school. Alivia is now a freshman at Mitchell High School and will participate in various sports and activities.
Our new Junior Varsity Coach is Mr. Jackson Ryan. Coach Ryan comes from a lifetime of being around the game of basketball as a player and coach. Most recently, Coach Ryan served at Orleans Community Schools as a middle school head coach and high school assistant. While in college, he was the JV Coach at Terre Haute North as well.
Coach Mike Greathouse, our former Varsity Assistant, has also decided to take a leave of absence from coaching. Coach Greathouse has a son, Tyler, who is coaching in JV basketball at Marion High School. He also has a daughter and grandkids that live in the area. He has decided to spend more time with his family. Don't be surprised to see him around the program from time to time!
Chase Trueblood will take over as the new Owls Varsity Assistant. Coach Trueblood is from the Vincennes area and played at Vincennes University. He was most recently the Freshman Coach and Varsity Assistant at Evansville Harrison High School. Coach Trueblood will do a great job for our program!
If you see these guys at a practice, game, or out in the community, make sure to make them feel welcome! Welcome aboard fellas!
