In celebration of Culture, Diversity and Achievements of African American Life with Countway Library, We acknowledge the contributions from Dr Brian Swann DDS Assistant Professor in Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology. Dr Swann is also a longtime member of the National Dental Association.

"Being the only full-time African-American faculty at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine is a great responsibility. It is a challenge to change that number, but I will try through role modeling and advocacy. My daily task is to embrace what comes my way as an opportunity rather that. a personal inconvenience, and whenever I speak to one or to many, I try to share some 'truths' and not waste the 'moment'. These opportunities are as precious as gold, and my resiliency comes through my ancestors and my people," Dr Brian Swann DDS 2019
