PATRIOTS HONOR FIRST TEAM MEMBERS
2/29/2016

At Sunday’s game with East Greenwich, the Patriots officially celebrated the 30th season as the Portsmouth High School hockey team.  At the invitation of the current squad, eight members of Portsmouth’s first hockey team, from the inaugural 1986-87 season, attend the game and saw what their legacy had produced.  In a dominating performance, today’s team grabbed a thrilling win in its game with the East Greenwich Avengers to stay in the running for the top playoff seed in Division II.

The original players in attendance were recognized between the second and third periods and each was presented with a memento from the current team.

The members of the current Portsmouth High School Patriots Hockey Team would like express their appreciation to all of the first team members, both those in attendance and those who were unable to with them at the game, for starting the team and the tradition that lives on today.

Finally, a very special thank you goes out to each of the eight former Patriots players who were at the game for the celebration
