NOVEMBER 26, 2016 - The Steele County Blades will resume a four game series against the Forest Lake Lakers this Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at Four Seasons Centre.
The Blades have the opportunity to take sole possession of third place if they win both games. The Dells Ducks sit idle this weekend with 24 points in the standings, compared to the Blades 22. Soren Colstrup leads the Blades in scoring and is currently riding a six game point steak, accumulating three goals and six assists. Blades center Kyle Wadden has also been on a hot streak of his own, recording 13 points in his last seven games.
The Blades won the first two games of the four game series, picking up a win in regulation as well as an overtime victory last weekend in Forest Lake. The Blades put up 10 goals in their two games against Forest Lake this season while giving up five goals to their opponents. These teams currently sit neck in neck in the standings, while the Blades have three games in hand.
“The Lakers are a good team with a very good coach," said Assistant Coach Bobby Solari. "We should expect to see a very hungry Lakers team, considering we took four points in their building last weekend. Chris Walby is a good coach that I am sure will make some adjustments to counter what we have done so far. I am excited to see what our guys bring to the table in a pivotal weekend for our team."
