Majors Lose Close One to Rice Academy

The Majors lost 5-2 to Rice Academy from Vermont in their opening game of their two-game exhibition series on Friday evening.

Despite outshooting the host team 32-24, the Majors could not solve the Rice goaltender enough to gain a victory.  Rice's 5th goal was into an empty net.  The Majors made it close by scoring two PP goals in the third to make the score 3-2, but shortly thereafter giving up a 4th goal as they got caught pressing  for the equalizer.

A close outing, and Kieran Molony was solid in net.  Patrick Yau and Riley Van der Kooy scored for the Majors with helpers going to Michael Mastroianni with two and Thomas Finn with one.
