Connecticut Basketball Conference World Headquarters

Harwinton/Burlington Admitted to Connecticut Basketball.

Rich in tradition and history, Harwinton--the Crown Jewel of Litchfield County--was first settled in 1730 by Daniel Messenger and according to Connecticut Basketball folklore, started playing basketball in 1891—the same year Dr. Naismith started his program in Springfield, MA.

And now HYSA (Harwinton Youth Sports Association) is part of the Connecticut Basketball family.

“We could not be more excited,” Jonathan Gorski, HYSA Director of Basketball told Connecticut Basketball this week.  “For us, it’s about fundamentals and getting the kids ready for the next level.  We can’t think of a better place to accomplish this objective than with Connecticut Basketball.

Harwinton/Burlington expects to field teams in the 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B, 4G, 5G, 6G, 7G, and 8G divisions in the 2024-25 season. They will play their home schedule at the majestic Har-Bur Middle School in Burlington.

Connecticut Basketball's 18th season tips off December 6, 2024.  Registration for new teams seeking admission closes October 10, 2024.  (As we do not accept all Clubs that apply, early registration is encouraged.) Registration for returning teams closes October 21, 2024.

To apply for admission (or record your returning teams), please visit Connecticut Basketball website at www.ctbball.org and click on the "Apply to Join" or “Registration” links.
