Tough Schedule set as Varsity Football tries to repeat as SEC Red Champions
SALINE, MI APRIL 12, 2013 ––– The 2013 Saline High School football schedule has been finalized. Highlights include the home opener on Friday, August 30th vs. A.B. Lucas Vikings (Division 1) from London, Ontario. The program is a Provincial powerhouse with returning players on both sides of the ball and expects another strong team. The Hornets have never played a Canadian team. Saline Head Coach Joe Palka noted it was great opportunity for the students and the community. “It is a nice chance to play a strong football team, have a positive international experience, and open the season at home in front of our crowd.”
After a two year break, the Chelsea Bulldogs are back on the schedule for 2013. The Hornets travel to Chelsea on Friday, September 13th. Following Chelsea, a tough stretch of SEC Red games follows. The Hornets travel to Ann Arbor Pioneer, then host Bedford for Homecoming, followed by the Monroe Trojans at home. “This will be a challenging stretch for us.
