Disabled Hockey Festival
5/3/2018

As a club we are looking to support others that have a passion for the great game.  USA Hockey, the Central District, and Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois are hosting the 14th annual Toyota-USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Festival. The Festival (tournament) has taken place in a different region of the country each year with huge success and tremendous growth. This year the festival will host two separate weekends:

April 5-8, 2018 - Blind Hockey, Deaf / Hard of Hearing, Special Hockey, & Warrior / Standing Amputee

April 12-15, 2018 - Sled Hockey

The mission of the Festival is to provide a fun and exciting event of hockey and to promote and grow disabled hockey throughout the country.  This event is the largest disabled hockey event of its kind, bringing together all disabled hockey disciplines in one location.

With over 1,000 participants, the festival needs volunteers to support the athletes during the weekends and the GBS Titan Hockey Club is in a position to provide support.  Given the strong young men within our organization, the primary activity will be carrying equipment for the participants but just providing encouragement is also needed.

Mike McKay is organizing player volunteers for the weekend. The club will give support during the following times:

Saturday, April 7 – 9:30-1:30 at Leafs Center & Saturday, April 7 – 1:00-5:00 at Leafs Center

Saturday, April 14 – 9:30-1:30 at Leafs Center & Sunday, April 15 – 1:00-5:00 at Leafs Center

Please respond directly to Mike at mckay91@comcast.net if your son is able to help and denote which time(s).
