2018 Playoffs Rules of Play for clarity.
1) Games will be 2 - 30 minute periods as per the regular season. If the score difference drops to 2 goals or less within the last 5 minutes of the second period the game will switch to stop time. Once a game enters stop time it will remain stop time until the end of the second period no matter the goal differential.
2) Regular season rules for game misconducts will apply, if a player is issued a 'GAME MISCINDUCT" in the last 10 minutes of the second period an additional 1 game suspension will be issued. Same rule applies if there is a fight in the last 10 minutes of the second period the players involved will be issued an addtional 1 game suspension. These game misconducts and fighting misconducts will also apply at anythime during an overtime period.
3) Teams must identify 1 captain and 2 alternate captians by marking a "C" or an "A" beside the players name on the official game sheet or be clearly identified on the players jersey.
4) The "HOME" team will be granted last shift change. The home team will be decided by the teams higher overall ranking in the regular season and will alternate back and forth for each game until the sries is completed.
5) Overtime will be 5 on 5 play, period length will be 10 minutes run time for the first overtime period, teams will not change ends for the first overtime period. If a second overtime is required the ice will be flooded and the remainder of the game will be 20 minute periods until the game is over teams will change ends to start the second overtime period and it will alternate ends until the game is decided. The game will continue until a winner is decided. There will be no shootouts to determine a winner.
6) Goalies - Teams that are not able to get there regular goalie (on the roster) will be able to pick up another goalie that is in the league. No goalies that are not on a current roster will be eligible to play in the playoffs. Teams may not get a goalie from a division higher than the one they play in. Eg. "A" Division Teams can get a goalie from A,B,C or D Division teams. B Division teams can get a gaolie from B,C or D Division teams. C Division teams can get a goalie from C or D Division teams and D Division teams can only get goalies from another D Division team. You are encouraged to use the goalie you have on your roster but we understand with varying shift schedules this is not always possible.
7) Round One
A - Division winner will be decided in a best of 5 series.
B, C and D - Division winner will be decided in a best of 3 series.
Round Two
A - Division (Finals) winner will be decided in a best of 7 series.
B, C and D - Division winner will be decided in a best of 3 series.
Round Three
B, C and D - Division (Finals) winner will be decided in a best of 5 series.
8) Teams captain of the winning team is to text the score of the game to Ken Ball at 780-799-6684 or Chad Hillcox at 780-742-1458 so we can post the scores and keep the website current. Please include a photo of the game sheet if possible.
9) Elligible players - Registered players are required to play a minimum of 10 games for eligibility to play in League Playoffs. Game sheets are the official record for games played. Players not recorded on game sheets shall be deemed not to have played in the game.
- Games played must be actual games, players will not receive game credit for forfeits.
- If player eligibility is in question it must be brought up to the executive. Decision will be at the discretion of the executive after reviewing game sheets.
- The Executive has the right to enforce any and all roster issues and will be the deciding factor in player eligibility for both league play and
playoffs.
10) Game Protests - To dispute or protest the game based on illegal player, it must be done during the game or immediately after the game
