MIDWEST TITANS CAGED THE HEARTLAND FALCONS OF OMAHA TO PICK-UP THEIR 4TH LEAGUE WIN TO IMPROVED THEIR OVERALL RECORD TO 5-2!!!

Omaha, Nebraska : Coming off a tough lost to the Des Moines Blaze a few weeks ago; the “Mighty” Titans was itching to get back on the gridiron when they traveled to Omaha, Nebraska to battle the much improved Heartland Falcons. Your Titans caged the Falcons with a 48-12 victory to improve their overall record to 5-2 and 4th place in the MFA League Standings. Defense has been the story all season long for the Titans and the trend continued against the Falcons. Leading the way for the “Fastest Show on Turf” Defense was rookie starting OLB Robert Hilsinger (Grandview High) who finished his day with 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception for a 55 yard TD return. Hilsinger was voted Defensive MVP of the Game. Other defensive notables was starting DB Tyrone Groves (Avila University) who had 6 total tackles, and 1 interception and Starting DB Will Griffin (Mid-American Nazarene University) who also added 1 interception in the game. Starting DT Dakota Staponski saw his first action since injuring his knee a against the Sioux Falls Stallions. ”It was good to see him back in the line-up and back on the gridiron” ;said Head Coach Webb. The Titans offense came out clicking on all cylinders and complied 427 total yards on offense. The Titans was led by starting QB Eric Hoskins (Missouri Western University) who finished his day with 262 passing yards, 3 TD’s and 1 Int. Hoskins averaged 9.7 yards per pass reception and completed 15 of 27 pass attempts. Leading the way for the Titans Wide Receiving group was starting WR Damond Berry who finished his day with 7 catches for 91 and also saw some action at the QB position. Berry was named the team’s offensive MVP! The Titans ground game was not to be out done by the passing game and racked up a total of 165 rushing yards on 22 attempts. Leading the way for the Titans running game was starting RB Lamont Connor (Oklahoma South High) who finished his day with 100 yards rushing on 10 carriers and 1 TD. Back-up RB Ivory Davis saw his first action by moving up the depth chart and finished his day with 33 yards rushing on 5 carriers and 1TD. Starting FB Karl Harris added the Titans only other rushing TD. The “Mighty” Titans will be off the next two weekends and will return to action on Saturday Evening July 13, 2013 when they travel to Sutherland, Iowa to take on a tough and discipline Iowa Sharks Football Team.
