Connor Little Niklas Pedersen
The RIIL Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2020 All-Star selections Monday night and Head Coach Kriner told the team at practice on Thursday. This year’s League All-Star Games are set to be played on Sunday February 23 at the Levy Community Ice Center at Burrillville High School. The Division I game will start at 5:30 pm followed by the Division II / III game at 7:00 pm.
Portsmouth’s All Stars this season are the team’s two top scoring forwards, seniors Connor Little and Niklas Pedersen.
At this point in the season, after fourteen league games, Little has scored 10 goals and has 16 assists for 26 points. His point total, which already equals his production in all 16 games last season, currently ranks him as the fourth leading scorer in D-II. He leads the squad in faceoff win percentage, and is serving in his second season as captain of the team. This is his second All Star selection, an honor that very few players achieve.
With 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points, Pedersen is currently tied for the Division lead in goal scoring, and is the fifth best point scorer in the league. He has served as an alternate captain for two seasons. He is also very good in the faceoff circles but, because he skates on the line with Little, he has had only limited opportunities to demonstrate that skill. This is his first selection as an All Star.
Congratulations to Connor Little and Niklas Pedersen for being honored as D-II All Stars.
