On December 12, 2020, the puck dropped for the last time on the Northern Hawks 2020-21 hockey season. After much deliberation and in the interest of safety, the Lakehead Junior Hockey League and partners have decided this season cannot continue under present circumstances related to COVID.
We would like to thank all our dedicated fans and generous sponsors for their continued support, you are so important to our on going success and we have always and will continue to work hard to live up to our past achievements and provide a rewarding on and off ice product for you to be proud of.
To our players, you are the reason we make the effort every practice and every game. You are the reason we continue to learn and teach, and as long as you want to be on the ice, we'll be there with you. We hope you enjoyed this short season as much as we did. Playing junior hockey is an amazing opportunity to continue building good habits and making new friends and we can't wait to get back on the ice with all our returning players and the new group of players coming up through the ranks.
To our coaches, trainers, manager and staff, know that your efforts and selfless volunteerism are always appreciated and it's what makes our community a better place. Your constant commitment to innovation and dedication to learning and improving is a powerful example to our entire league.
This ultimate and untimely end to our season has saddened us all, but we are excited for the future, and when the puck drops again next season, we'll be there, and we hope you'll all be there with us, to laugh and yell and cheer, and to create more great memories for our organization and all the family and friends that make up our hockey community.
