Nipigon Elks opened the 2021-22 season with 22 players attending their first skate this past Sunday.

"I am inspired by the effort," commented head coach Malcolm Sutherland. "We had a good group of new and returning players attend our first skate this weekend. With it being a long weekend their commitment was clear. And when the boys hit the ice I liked the effort!"

The Elks announced multiple signings including veterans Connor Lybarger (D), Zach Prenger (G), and Drew LaFrambois (F). Nipigon also signed goaltender Parker Ball who was an LJHL 18U Draft selection.

The team will hit the ice again immediately after the Teleco Cup. Coach Sutherland will lead a group of LJHL Selects in the three-day preseason showcase.
