The Thunder Bay Northern Hawks are pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Macchi as their new head coach. He replaces long-time coach and team president Frank Felice.

Mr. Macchi has been an integral part of the Hawks' success for the past five seasons as an assistant coach in addition to manager of many off-ice functions for the team. He brings a wealth of Hockey Canada coaching certifications to the team.

When away from the rink, Frank is a professional engineer and the owner of Woodbridge Constuctors.

In stepping aside, Mr. Filice felt it was time to focus his efforts on the off-ice functions and managerial duties for the team.

"I felt it was time the the team had a new voice and vision going forward," commented Felice.

As the head coach of the Hawks, Frank Filice compiled an impressive coaching record since taking ownership of the team. His seven years as head coach included five Hockey Northwestern Ontario championships/league titles, two Keystone Cup Gold medals and a 149-43-7 overall coaching record.
