Four Portsmouth players were among those selected by the head coaches of the seven Division II teams as outstanding players for the just completed 2021-22 season. Citing the players as the “Best of the Best” they were named as All-Division II players and designated as members of a first, second, or third team each consisting of four forwards, two defensemen and a goalie.

Honored as Second Team players were Portsmouth’s captain, Mac Dunn, and the squad’s standout goalie, Steve Dutra.  Receiving recognition as Third Team members were the Patriots’ leading goal and point scorer, Aidan Toner, and defenseman Dan Biello.

Dunn was noted for his leadership and clutch game time performance both of which were key to the team’s success this season.   Dutra had a terrific season; putting up statistics that earned him a ranking as the number two goalie in D-2.  Toner was not only the Patriots leading goal and point scorer he was also the fifth most prolific goal scorer in the division.  Biello emerged this season as Portsmouth’s top defenseman.  His selection is particularly notable as it is uncommon for a sophomore to receive such recognition.
