PATRIOTS FALL TO CHIEFTAINS
1/7/2024

In the final contest of their nearly month-long “road trip” the Patriots lost to the league leading Ponaganset Chieftains Saturday afternoon at the Levy Community Ice Center in Burrillville.  The 4-1 defeat ran Portsmouth’s winless streak to four games.

Portsmouth’s single goal was netted during a third period power play by the team’s current leading scorer, Chase Pascoe, assisted by Hayden Krzych.

The Patriots outshot the Chieftains 26-24 and had a number of good scoring opportunities, including five power plays, in the game.  Despite the effort the team was unable to solve Ponaganset’s goalie to capitalize on their advantages.

The Patriots are back on their home ice at the Abbey next Sunday, January 14, to play the West Warwick, Exeter, West Greenwich Knight-Wizards.  Game time is 2:00 pm.  The team will be looking to get back on the winning track, so come to the game and cheer for Portsmouth.

See you at the rink.
