Bandits Announce Four Signings
Sioux City, IA (Nov. 13, 2013)
The Sioux City Bandits are pleased to announce the signing of four players. Scott Jensen and Rahn Franklin Jr have been invaluable members for the SIoux CIty Bandits for the past few years. We are signing two new players that will be rookies in our league but have prior professional football experience.
Scott Jensen played college football at Eastern Oregon University. In 2013, Jensen completed 122-239 passes for 1282 yards. He completed 154 touchdown passes in his Bandits career.
Rahn Franklin Jr played college football at Buena Vista University. In 2013 he had three interceptions, and one fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown as well as 40 tackles. In his Bandits career, Franklin has had 21 interceptions.
Joining the Bandits for the first time in 2014 will be Rahn's brother, Stephen Franklin, a linebacker from Southern Illinois University where in 2010 he was named the Tony Bleyer Award winner for the MVP for defense, won the Harry Bobbit Spirit Award, Most Valuable Linebacker and Team Captain. In 2011 he spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars where he saw action in five games.
Our other first year player is Lorenzo Brown from the University of Sioux Falls. Brown was NAIA player of the year in 2009. He led Sioux Falls to championships in 2008 and 2009 and was 29-0 as a two-year starter. He was named to the NAIA all-decade team. Brown had many more honors as a college player. He also played for the Sioux Falls Storm in 2012 and the Sioux Falls Stallions.
