Coming off a very promising performance at the South Sound Football Camp in Fife on June 23rd-23th, the Rams followed up with a stellar performance at the Top of the Mountain 7 on 7 Passing Tournament. Mount Rainier fought their way through the heat wave riddled day and by day’s end the Rams were atop the mountain.

"I was pleased with the overall performance and the resilience the kids showed however, there is still mounds work to do and our kids are committed to doing whatever it takes. I am so proud of our kids and how much growth and improvement they have shown. We have laid a foundation at Mount Rainier that the kids and everyone involved believes in and everyone is on the same page with the same goals in mind. Our kids are hungry and for lack of better terms, want to eat (improve) at every opportunity afforded to them. Whatever challenges there are along the way, they are taking them head on and together, Coach Mack said.

Highline took and early 6 - 0 lead but the Rams stormed back to tie the game and it remained that way until the last drive of the game. Mount Rainier methodically drove down the field for a score in the final seconds and converted the extra point to take the lead 13 - 6. Highline had one last gasp at getting in the endzone on the final play of the game but to no avail, as a Highline receiver was tagged down to end the game. Mont Rainier tightened the ratchet on both sides of the ball and played at their best when it counted most.

I overheard somone walking by as I on my way out of the stadium say these words:

"Success is contagious and the temperature is rising at Mount Rainier."
