LB Sebastian Sanchez, Bernards, Sr.
A repeat first-team All-Area selection, Sanchez declined scholarship offers from as far away as UTEP to commit to UPenn in order to attend an Ivy League school. Sanchez, who doubles as a running back, holds multiple school records including the longest touchdown run, which went for 99 yards, and the most tackles and rushing yards in a game. He holds Bernards’ career mark with 318 tackles. Sanchez carried 119 times for 1,059 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Sanchez led the Mountaineers with 115 tackles including 15 for a loss. He led the team with 5.5 sacks. Sanchez also caused two fumbles and intercepted a pass. He averaged 24.4 yards on five kickoff returns.
