BCC Wins Two of Three at Danville

Bolivia, NC - BCC (18-13, 11-5) was victorious Saturday, taking both games of the double header at Danville Community College 2-0 and 6-0.  In the first game, Casey Fries drove in Addison Futrell in the seventh inning to put the Dolphins in the lead.  Ben Kerner threw five innings of shutout ball, had five strikeouts and allowed only four hits.  In game two, Jimmy Boyd excelled on the mound pitching a shutout in seven innings.  In the fifth inning, a sacrifice fly by Pat Graham scored one run to put the Dolphins up 1-0.  In the sixth inning, BCC scored five runs.  Willie McRae singled in the fifth and sixth, drove in one run and scored two runs.

 

Finally, in game three of the series on Sunday, BCC got off to an early lead in the third scoring a run on a groundout by Bay Wright.  Danville tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, and then went up for good in the eighth scoring four runs.

 

Next up for the Dolphins is a three-game series at College of the Albemarle (15-10, 6-8) this weekend.
