Vikings 32 George McDougall 2

The Vikes took on the tier 2 Mustangs from Airdrie in an exhibition match-up last Friday to open up the 2016 season.  They started quickly driving the feild on a well balanced running and passing attack.  Unfortuntely the drive stalled in the red zone and they had to settle for a short field goal by Dan Gardiner.  The rest of the first half saw teams trade safeties as both offenses struggled to really get things going.

The second half was a different story.  The vikings defence stepped up big time with numerous 3rd down stops and four interceptions - one each for Mason Posnikoff, Jorden MacPhee, Kaden Wagner and Adrian Glauser who returned his for a TD.  Creed Willett also scored a defensive touchdown on a crazy centre sneak play by the Mustangs, which he managed to take to the house.  Alex Glauser scored on a 1 yard QB sneak and Dan Gardiner added 2 more field goals to round out the scoring.

Next game is Thursday September 1 at 730pm vs Mccoy.
