Vikings 13 Brooks 0
The Vikings made the road trip up highway 1 to Brooks on Friday to take on a very tough and physical Buffaloes team. Early on Brooks held the field position battle as both offenses tried to find their legs against stingy hard hitting defenses, but that all changed with a Creed Willett fumble recovery at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings offense began to click and field position swung in the teams favour. Rick Muller and Connor Neufeld made some key receptions from Alex Glauser while Willett pounded the ball. Eventually the Vikings pounded in a 1 yard QB sneak by Alex Glauser after an extended drive. A missed extra point snap kept the score to 6-0.
The second half saw more of the same tough hitting defenses with numerous injuries hitting both the Vikings and Buffaloes offenses. The Vikings defense came up with some huge turnovers including interceptions by Connor Neufeld, new comer Caleb Lee, and safety Carter Bray. A questionable 3rd down delay of game penalty against the Vikings on a field goal attempt which saw them have to turn the ball over was rectified with a fumble recovery on the very next play by DE Curtis Pahl. The offense connected on a short passing play from Alex to Bretton Labash for a touchdown making the score 13-0.
The team is now 3-0 (2-0 in league play) on the season and ranked #4 in the province for tier 3 sized schools.
