Vikings 23 Strathmore 6

The Vikings Varsity team travelled highway 1 for the second week in a row, this time to take on the Strathmore Spartans in a regular season tilt. Strathmore came out extremely hard giving the offense a tough time from an unorthodox 3-5 cover 0 defensive system. The Viking defense played well holding the team in keeping strathmore at bay. The Spartans scored at the very beginning of the 2nd quarter but missed the extra point. Creed Willette broke numerous tackles in the second quarter on a 55 yard rumble for the Vikings first score. A change in offensive system was the turning point in the game and the team powered their way to victory in the second half. Creed Willette punched in another rushing TD while Conner Neufeld hooked up with Kaden Wagner on a reception for a TD. Dan Gardiner rounded out the scoring with a 23 yard field goal. In the end the team came out with a hard fought victory and battled through adversity to start the RFC season off right.  Offensive and FG stats are posted.

The Vikings are 2-0 on the season and need to be prepared for a tough match up against Brooks next Friday at the Methanex Bowl at 730pm.
