For the second straight season the Manchester IronPigs will head to Fall Ball Championship Game; this time to face the Portsmouth Padres.

This year, the IronPigs beat the Ganite State Tigers, tthis season's version of "Team X", 9-3 in the First Round to advance and will host the Padres, who upset last season's inaugural champion Manchester Phillies 8-4 on Sunday in the other semifinal game.

Jerry "Junior" Acosta Jr.  pitched six no-hit innings, striking out 10. He earned his first win of the season and lowered his ERA to a league-leading 1.29 for the season.

Nik Beeson closed the door, earning the team's second save in history by pitching the final 3 frames. Beeson did give up three hits, including the no-hitter busting solo shot to the Tigers' Tony LaPerle in the seventh inning.

Acosta Jr. earned the first save in IronPigs' hstory last week in relief of Terrell Boudreau, also against the Tigers.

The IronPigs started off slow against Jake Heaphy, who pitch a complete game in the losing effort. The IronPigs finally broke through with a four-run fourth inning.
