Camp Community College Hurricanes defeated Southern Virginia University JV 14-4 on Thursday thanks to a timely ten runs in a big first inning. In the first inning, Camp got their offense started when Fox doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Tannor Sullivan followed that with a run scoring triple. The Hurricane’s entire offense pitched in with singles by Bryce Johnson and Keyshawn Johnson, doubles by Thomas Fox and Patrick Rogan, a triple by Tannor Sullivan, a sacrifice fly by Xavier Anderson, a groundout by Mickey Falzarano, and an error on a ball put in play by Joseph Lathrop.
Bryce Johnson took the win for the Hurricanes. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking one. 8 Camp pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts on the day. Tanner Stocking took the loss for Southern Virginia University JV.
Camp Community College racked up 11 hits in the game. Brett Walsh, Rogan, and Fox each racked up multiple hits for the Hurricanes. Fox, Rogan, and Walsh each collected two hits to lead the way. They also tore up the base paths with 9 stolen bases.
