Playing in the 50th game in franchise history, the Manchester IronPigs topped the Nashua MudHens 8-5 on Saturday morning.
A week after suffering a 13-4 loss despite Aaron Wovkanech's solid outing (5 innings, 2 earned runs allowed), Euclides Pichardo pitched a complete game gem, striking out 5 and allowing 5 runs (3 earned).
The 'Pigs jumped to early 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Julian Villarreal double and a John Rigal sacrifice fly. The MudHens tied it at 2 in the third inning, but the tie game was short lived as the IronPigs tallied 3 runs in the bottom half of the third inning. Manuel Castro. Rigal and Aaron Wovkanech each singled home a run in the inning.
FRank Trinidad paced the offense from the leadoff spot, walking three time and singling once. He scored four runs and stole a team-record five bases.
Villarreal, Castro and Rigal each drove in two runs.
