DES MOINES, IA - The Des Moines Blaze reeled off their sixth straight win, improving to 6-1 on the season, with a 32-8 win over the Med City Freeze (4-2).

The Freeze jumped out to a first quarter lead as Des Moines started off sluggish on both sides of the ball. The Blaze answered with a LaMar Sayles Jr. rushing score and a two point conversion which tied the game at eight going into the half.

Jeremy Batiste ran the ball in to put the Blaze on top in the third quarter. Med City was driving to tie the game when rookie Safety Jamie Spinks took an interception 73 yards for his first career touchdown. Matt Best and Dwine Rankins also recorded interceptions for Des Moines.

Sayles second rushing touchdown, from 37 yards out, would cap the scoring in the fourth quarter.

"We fought through some adversity in the first half," said Head Coach Tyrone Tyler. "A couple bad penalties and questionable calls cost us a touchdown and put us in bad positions, but you need to go through those things to grow as a team. I'm proud of the way we responded."

The Blaze (6-1) finish up their regular season at the North Iowa Bucks (4-2) this Saturday. A win will guarantee a number one seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
