The Bees struck first and never turned back as Nick Borek led the Bees on the mound in a 10-2 win over Syracuse at Van Duyn Field on Wednesday.
In the first inning, Baldwinsville scored two runs as Anthony May walked, Billy Clifford singled, Cam Williams drove in May with a groundout, and David Cerqua drove in Clifford with a single.
In the bottom of the second inning, Borek allowed the only two hits and runs of the game, as Syracuse tied the game 2-2.
The Bees responded with one run in the top of the third as Zach Bush walked, stole second, and scored on a single by May.
Then, in the fourth inning, the Bees got their offense in gear and drove in seven runs to take a 10-2 lead, the final margin of the game.
Alex Robinson singled to start the inning. Then, with one out, Ryan Carson walked, Nate Johns was hit by a pitch, and Bush walked again to force in a run. May singled in another run. Then, Clifford drove in two more with a double down the third base line. Other runs scored on an error and then Jarrod Williams singled home the final run of the frame.
May and Clifford finished with two hits each.
Meanwhile, on the mound, Borek mowed down the rest of the Syracuse batters without a hit. Borek struck out eight Syracuse batters in a complete game effort and finished with a two-hitter.
