Eagles Defeat Agoura 7-6 in Double Overtime
3/28/2012

The Eagles played a strong Agoura team on Friday night and for the third time this season the Eagles went into overtime.  Ryan Helfand's goal in the second overtime period gave Oak Park its first OT victory and its fifth victory of the season by the score 7-6.  So far this season, four Oak Park games have been been decided by a single goal; in two other games the margin was two goals.

This game proved to be another roller coaster ride for the Eagles and their fans.  The two evenly matched teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first quarter.  The Eagles moved ahead 3-1 early in the second quarter, but the Chargers fought to pull even at 3-3.  Oak Park scored the next three goals to take a 6-3 lead.  However, Agoura scored the last three goals to tie the score 6-6 as regulation time expired.

The Eagles had a couple chances in the first overtime period, but they could not capitalize.  Fortunately, Helfand got the game winner at 3:27 in the second overtime.  Grant Consoletti led the scoring with 1 goal and 3 assists.  Hunter Jamison scored 2 goals.  Ryan Helfand had 1 goal and 1 assist.  Zack Shorts, Tyler Chandler, and Griffin Hughes each scored a goal.

The Eagle JV squad lost their first game of the season to Agoura by the score 3-5.  Evan Saravis scored 2 goals, and Patrick Lasure scored 1.  Owen Consoletti, Stephen Bernstein, and Brandon Coppel each had an assist.

The Eagles play at Malibu on Wednesday and hope to avenge the OT loss they suffered in thier first meeting.
