May 12, 2016 - While many of the names are different this year, the Concordia-Chicago baseball team has been honored with a large representation on this year's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference post-season awards. For the second consecutive season, CUC netted the two top awards in Pitcher and Position Player of the Year, and added

Coach of the Year honors for first-year leader Mike Stawski. The Cougars finished the regular season 29-11 and parlayed their 16-4 NACC record into a top seed at the conference tournament which begins today in Mequon, WI.
Bryan VanDuser (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North) earned a place on the NACC's All-Freshman team to go with his first-team honor. The Cougars' third baseman took the NACC by storm, hitting .361 and leading the conference in hits with 61. VanDuser was also second in the conference in doubles with 18 and stolen bases with 20 (out of 24 attempts). "We could see from the day that Bryan arrived on campus that he was going to be an important part of our team," said Stawski. "It's not normal for a freshman to bat leadoff, but he's produced consistently for us throughout the season. We're not surprised by his success."
