Alumni News:
Former BCC Baseball Player Nick Debo, now a senior at UNC Pembroke, has been awarded Capital One Academic All American status. Nick played at BCC from 2014-2015 and while attending BCC he earned the NCJAA Pinnacle Award for student athletes that achieved a 4.0 GPA. He is one of 34 NCAA Division II baseball student-athletes to receive this recognition.

Six Dolphin baseball players have committed to continue their education and baseball career at 4 year universities.
Robby Kidwell has committed to UNC Wilmington, Joel McDaniel to Appalachian State University, Julian Blackburn and Phillip Simpson are both playing at Campbell University, Michael Milian to William Peace University and McKinley Stanbery will be playing at North Carolina A&T University. More players are pending.

Blue Team Wins Blue-Teal Series


BLUE/TEAL SERIES SET FOR THIS WEEKEND!
The annual Blue/Teal series is set begin this Saturday October 29th with a double header, game one will start at 12:00, game two will start around 2:30 and on Sunday game three will start at 1:00. This has been a very exciting weekend in the past and a great way to close out the fall baseball season. I hope you can come out to see the 2016-2017 BCC baseall Team in action.

BCC Captures Southeastern Regional Championship
Heading back to NJCAA World Series
BCC ran through the Region X/ Southeastern Regionals this weekend going undefeated including a 22-9 win over the 5th ranked team in the nation Patrick Henry in the championship game.
The Dolphins downed Surry in the opener behind a complete game pitched by left-hander Julian Blackburn. Nolan Clenney got 4 of the team's 14 hits. Kyle Mehl and Nathan Kuester had 3 hits each.
In the second game the Dolphins defeated the 10th ranked Pasco Hernando 12-9. Ryan Hall pitching in relief of Phil Simpson nothced the win. Kuetser got three hits while five other players had two each. Nolan Clenney hit a home run.
In game three the Dolphins downed Wake Tech 11-3 behind the pitching and hitting of Clenney. He pitched a complete game and added two hits including a triple. Clenney, Nick Yarbrough, and Markel Jones each had two hits.
In the championship game against Patrick Henry the Dolphins pounded 23 hits including homers by Markel Jones and Nick Yarbrough. Marshall Smith had four of the hits. Jones, Kuester, Yarbrough, AJ Lombardo, and Brett McMillian all had three hits.Thomas Coggburn got the win on the mound pitching striking out five of the Patriots hitters. Zack Banks, Ryan Hall, and Jonathan Carpenter also pitched.

Boyd Takes Home American Athletic Conference Honors
Former Dolphin Jimmy Boyd awarded the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Boyd picked up the honors after limiting No. 15 Houston to one run (unearned) on six hits (all singles) in a career-best 8.2 innings in Saturday’s conference series clinching 5-1 win, which was the second series win over a top 15 program this season. The right-hander was one out shy of a complete-game shutout with the lone run coming on a two-out error in the ninth. Boyd struck out a season-high eight batters (five over the last 2.2 innings), issued one walk, and induced 10 fly outs and six ground ball outs in his fourth quality start of the year.
On the season, Boyd is 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA in eight appearances (six starts). He has allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 36 hits in 46.0 innings while striking out 30 and walking just nine batters.

The BCC Baseball and Volleyball Teams helped Santa pack toys last week. These 15 student athletes spent their free time helping Brunswick Family Assistance pack toys and food for families in Brunswick County that need assistance.
BLUE TEAM WINS
On Saturday December 12th at 6:00am The BCC Baseball Team begin it's annual team building challenge weekend called "PRIDE WEEKEND". This is a two day event where players are asked to complete an obstacle course on Day 1 and another course on Day 2 as a team. The players were split in to four teams of twelve players (Blue, White, Grey and Red). The Blue Team won this years team building challenge.

25 former BCC Baseball players attended the Alumni Reunion Saturday November 14th. More information and photos to come!

The Blue Squad won the 2015 Blue Teal World Series!
This past weekend they won Friday's game 8-1 and Saturday's game 5-3.
Sunday the Teal Squad won the final game of the series 4-2.
