Calvary Chapel Eagles Varsity Drops Game To Costa Mesa After Late Score

 

Calvary Chapel Eagles stayed in it until the end, but Costa Mesa pulled away late in an 8-7 victory on Friday. The game was tied at six with Costa Mesa batting in the top of the seventh when #7 doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

Calvary Chapel collected 12 hits and Costa Mesa had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

Costa Mesa opened up scoring in the first inning. #15 drove in one when he singled.

Calvary Chapel put up six runs in the second inning. The rally was led by doubles by Charlie Pierce and Sean Riley.

 

Pierce was on the mound for the Eagles. He surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out six and walking zero. Chris Berry threw one inning out of the bullpen.

 

Calvary Chapel tallied 12 hits in the game. Riley, Pierce, and Berry all had three hits to lead Calvary Chapel Eagles Varsity.
