North Tahoe Lakers Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-3 loss to Yerington on Thursday. Yerington scored on a single by Trevor Evasovic, a single by Nate Landa, a single by Vinny Angle, and a double by Brock Bader in the first inning.

The North Tahoe Lakers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Yerington, giving up 13 runs.

Yerington opened up scoring in the first inning. Evasovic singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity notched three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Nathan Whisler and Koby Mattson and a fielder's choice by Tanner Wilkins.

Vincent Scatena earned the victory on the hill for Yerington. He went one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out one. Dylan Banta and Landa entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Whisler took the loss for North Tahoe Lakers Varsity.

Justin Olmstead started the game for Yerington. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.

Mattson and Whisler each collected one hit to lead North Tahoe Lakers Varsity.

Yerington racked up 13 hits. Scatena and Agustin Ramirez each racked up multiple hits for Yerington. Scatena went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Yerington in hits.
