Two Pitchers Work Together To Earn Victory For Calvary Chapel Against Saddleback In No-Hitter

The Eagles Varsity's two pitchers didn't allow a single hit, as Calvary Chapel defeated Saddleback 16-1 on Tuesday. Max Coyne struck out #14 to get the last out of the game.


Calvary Chapel Eagles Varsity notched nine runs in the third inning. Calvary Chapel Eagles Varsity put the pressure on, lead by singles by Lavoie, Brown, Brown, Riley, a triple by Coyne, by Guardardo, and a groundout by Gildart, all driving in runs in the inning.


Guardardo earned the win for the Eagles. He surrendered one run on zero hits over three innings, striking out four. Coyne threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.


#13 toed the rubber for Saddleback. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one. #9 threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.

 

Calvary Chapel Eagles racked up 14 total hits. Brown, Charlie Pierce, Lavoie, Coyne, and Brown all managed multiple hits for Calvary Chapel. Brown went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Brown also led the team with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.
