North Tahoe Lakers Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-6 loss to West Wendover on Friday. West Wendover scored on a single by Nel Covarrubias in the first inning, a single by Thomas Rojas in the first inning, a double by Isaac Gonzalez in the first inning, and a stolen base by Keegan Neilson in the second inning.

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity collected ten hits and West Wendover had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

West Wendover got things started in the first inning. Covarrubias singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity scored five runs in the fourth inning. Xander Kriston, Danny Sandoval, Tanner Wilkins, and Nathan Whisler all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

West Wendover scored four runs in the fifth inning. Rojas and Cristian Rodriguez each drove in runs during the inning.

Elias Rojas earned the victory on the hill for West Wendover. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out five. Luis Esparza threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Sandoval took the loss for North Tahoe Lakers Varsity. He surrendered seven runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out one.

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Kriston went yard in the fourth inning.

North Tahoe Lakers Varsity tallied ten hits. Richard Baker and Kriston each had multiple hits for North Tahoe Lakers Varsity. Kriston and Baker each managed two hits to lead North Tahoe Lakers Varsity.

West Wendover totaled 12 hits. Covarrubias, Neilson, Rojas, Gonzalez, and Esparza each racked up multiple hits for West Wendover. Covarrubias led West Wendover with three hits in four at bats. West Wendover stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Jose Trujillo led the way with two.
