SJ Tigers last game of the regular season ended in a 9-9 tie against the Cherry Hill Chiefs
On Sunday, July 28, 2019, the SJ Tigers ended up in a tie with the Cherry Hill Chiefs 9-9 and in doing so clinched the SJMSBL 35+ National League Division title for the first time in its first season in the National Division.
The SJ Tigers came out swinging in the first inning scoring 4 runs after a few walks, a double by Tommy Gardiner and a single by Amaury Mena. However, the Cherry Hill Chiefs attacked right back and scored 3 runs at the bottom of the first inning.


The powerful Tigers offense did not take long to strike back. They scored five runs in the top of the of third; thanks to two RBI double by Amaury Mena and two RBI single by Jenuel Vargas, giving the Tigers an early and comfortable 9-3 lead.


The Chiefs kept the pressure on and managed to get two runs at the bottom of the third and rallied at the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 9-9.
Mike Terlizzi pitched 4 and 2/3 innings against the Chiefs. It was a rough beginning for Terlizzi as he struggled to find his strike zone.
Terlizzi allowed 9 runs while striking out 4 and walking 5 batters before giving way to Amaury Mena who turned off the fire and shut down the Chiefs for the last 2 and 1/3 innings of the game.


S.J Tigers return to action on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at their home field, Babe Ruth baseball field, for a best of 3 semi-final series against the lowest seed of the two teams who will come out on top during one game elimination series that will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
