The Cape Central Tigers defeated the Ste. Genevieve Dragons 5-1 on Tuesday at Cape Central High School.
The offense of Central was led by senior Cade Emmenderfer who went 1-3 with two RBIs, his one hit was a home run that set the Tigers’ single-season record with eight. On the mound for Central, sophomore Travis Klipfel got the win with six strikeouts, two walks, and one earned run. Sophomore Connor Davidson came in for relief in the seventh.
The first Tiger run came off a sac fly by freshman Hayden Bowers, the second off a single by freshman Caden Chenowith, the third and fourth off the Emmenderfer bomb, and the final off another homer, this time from senior Carter Crosnoe.
Cape Central will travel to Chaffee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
