Connecticut American Legion Baseball "User Security"
Each year (Usually the last week of December), the Connecticut American Legion Baseball webmaster runs a proceedure that archives all of the Player "Roster" and Coaches "Roster" information.
Once run, all "Roster" and "Coaches" information is initialized within the online system.
Staring in January of the following year, any National forms wording is updated and the system is opened ro that years application process.
Coaches "Background Check" process
Eash year, the all Connecticut American Legion Baseball coaches are required to perfom precribed "Steps" in order to be allowed access to the Connecticut American Online system. The "progress" of each coach's background check is tracked in a table named, "Code of Ethics".
Coach's registration records are created by a coach filling out an online form which when entered crates an individual record for each coach's. as with "Player" and "Coaches" records in the online system, so is this data in the "Code of Ethics" table.
When a coach registers in the "Code of Ethics" app, that coach selects from a series of drop down lists, as to which level of security he/she is requesting. In the case of "Roster" authority, multiple requests for Roster access will always default to the team's General Manager.
Only two people have "Edit" access to the "Code of Ethics" table. As each step of the background check process is completed, one of those two individuals updates that step for each coach.
An online datamart is publicly available for anyone to view what coaches are registered and what background checks steps have been completed.
Only when all of that year's background checks have been completed, will that coach be set up with user security to the online system.
Coaches NOT having completed that year's background check process ARE NOT allowed to coach or be in the prescense or players facing penalties covered in the Connecticut State Rules.
