Warriors Top Northville Twice

On Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field in Troy, the Brother Rice Warriors (34-1) beat the Northville Broncos in both games of a Non-League doubleheader 10-0 & 8-1. The Warriors trotted out their 2 top starting Pitchers this season and the duo did not disappoint. In Game #1, (Sophomore LHP) Cole Duhaime tossed 4 scoreless innings while striking out 4 batters. He lowered his E.R.A. to (0.67) on the season after 42 Innings of work. The Warriors were led offensively in Game #1 by (Junior OF) Cash Vanameyde who was 3-for-4 with 2 Runs and an RBI.

 

In Game #2, (Junior RHP) Blake Ilitch continued his dominance by allowing 0 ER, 2 Hits, and 1 BB in his 5 innings of work. He struckout 8 batters along the way. He lowered his E.R.A. on the season to (0.30) and his WHIP to (0.67). All 9 starters had a hit during the game. (Senior SS) Tristan Crane blasted his team-leading 7th Home Run of the season to help give Rice an 8-1 victory.

 

The Warriors will play 2 Non-League Games this week to get themselves ready for the State Tournament. The MHSAA Tournament begins the Tuesday after Memorial Day.

(Junior RHP) Blake Ilitch didn't allow an earned run in his 5 innings of work. He struckout 8 batters during Brother Rice's 8-1 win over Northville in Game #2 of the doubleheader on Saturday. Ilitch has thrown 46 Innings this season. He's allowed just 2 Earned Runs, while striking out 78 hitters.
