On Friday night at Warrior Field in Troy, the Brother Rice Warriors (36-1) beat the Huron Valley Chiefs 9-3. Brother Rice was led by (Senior C) Owen Turner who bombed his 7th Home Run of the season. Heading into the State Tournament, Turner has posted team highs in 7 offensive catagories including batting average (.516), OB % (.657), OPS (1.536), Hits (47), Runs (46), and walks (35). (Junior RHP) Blake Ilitch and (Sophomore LHP) Cole Duhaime combined to allow 2 earned runs while striking out 10 batters to earn the victory. Brother Rice is set to play Catholic Central in a Non-League match up on Tuesday afternoon to wrap up the regular season. The game is at 4:00 P.M. in Novi.

(Senior C) Owen Turner has had a Monster season so far. His 1.537 O.P.S. is the highest since DJ Lemahieu (2007) posted a 1.734 O.P.S. his Senior year before heading to LSU. Turner will look to stay hot as he and his teammates get ready for the State Tournament that starts on Saturday, June 1st.
