On Saturday afternoon at Bloomfield High School, the Brother Rice Warriors (39-1) Continued their stellar play on the field by blowing out Bloomfield Hills High School 14-0 in the District semifinal, and then dispatching West Bloomfield in the District Finals 7-1. Every Warrior had at least 1 hit in the opening game against Bloomfield Hills. (Junior OF) Cash Vanameyde went 3-for-4 with a Run and 4 RBI. (Senior OF) Ty Fox, (Junior OF) Cole Vanameyde, and (Senior 2B) Max Orozco each had multi hit games to help lead the 14-run onslaught. (Sophomore LHP) Cole Duhaime was dominant in his 3 innings of work. He didn't allow any Runs, hits or walks. He struckout 5 batters and lowered his season E.R.A. to 0.71.

Chase Vanameyde: 1-for-3, 3 Runs.

In Game #2 the Warriors scored a run in the first but then West Bloomfield answered back with a run of their own in the 2nd to tie the game at 1-1. The game stayed that way until the top of the 5th inning. Cash Vanameyde led off with a single. He advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch, and then scored on a sharp single to CF by (Senior 1B) Ryan Tyranski. (Senior DH) Owen Turner crushed a double to LF to score Tyranski and make it a 3-1 game. A pair of walks to Chase Vanameyde and (Freshman C) Broder Katke loaded the bases with nobody out. (Senior SS) Tristan Crane hit a Sac Fly to CF to make the score 4-1. Two batters later (Junior OF) Cole Vanameyde doubled to cap off the 5-run inning and give Rice a 6-1 lead. The Warriors tacked on a run in the 7th and that was how the game ended. (Junior RHP) Blake Ilitch had a steady performance on the mound. He tossed a complete Game, allowed just 1 Run, and struckout 7 Lakers along the way. His E.R.A. on the season is sitting at 0.50.

The Warriors are set to square off with St. Mary's for the 5th time this season on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 P.M. at Warrior Field in Troy. The winner will advance to the regional finals at Wayne State University at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 8th.
