Sox Return Home With Rough Effort Against Brants
8/6/2025by Steve Marriott

The Milton Red Sox returned from the Senior Elimination Tournament and fell flat; losing to Burlington 17-2 on Wednesday night.

The Brants struck early against rookie starter Brayden Krolikowski, putting up a pair of runs before the Sox had a chance to bat. Krolikowski surrendered 3 hits, 3 runs (3 ER), striking out 3, and walking 5 enroute to the loss. An array of relievers managed the remaining 4 innings before the game was final.

Offensively, Christian D'Cruz led Milton wioth two hits in three at bats, while he and Medrik Dube had the only RBI for the Sox.

Defensively, the Red Sox committed two errors, leading to 2 unearned runs, while allowing 7 Burlington stolen bases.

With the COBA playoffs looming in 10 days, the Sox need a win in their final 3 games to ensure they avoid the play-in game that now exists due to the league being 7 teams with the addition of Waterloo. Ironically, it will be those same Tigers that the Red Sox will face in this weekend's home-and-home series that will undoubtedley have major implications on the playoff seedings. The Sox are home Saturday 1:30 pm at Glenn Turner Field, and travel to Waterloo to complete their schedule with the Tigers on Sunday. Game time 6:00 pm at Lexington Park, Waterloo.
