Eagles Continue Their Struggles Against Malibu
3/29/2013

OP hosted Malibu in a huge game at Eagle Stadium on Monday between two of the top teams in the area.  Once again the Eagles were unable to come away with a win over the Sharks.  Malibu has now beaten OP in 5 of the last 7 meeting including the last 3 games.  OP jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but Malibu battled back to tie the game at 3 at the end of one quarter of play.  They continued their dominance and  took a 5-4 lead into halftime.  The Eagles caught a huge break with 8 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter when Malibu's best player was called for a 3 minute non-releasable penalty and disqualified from the game with 5 minutes of personal fouls.  Unfortunately, the Eagle man up offense only managed 1 goal and OP never was able to catch Malibu as they pulled off a tough 8-6 win.  The Eagles (4-4) now face a must win game on Friday on the road against their biggest rival, Agoura.  Agoura (4-2) has struggled with close losses to Newbury Park and Westlake but defeated Malibu in their opener 8-5.
