Freshman Tigers Defeat Mars

North Allegheny Freshman Tigers were triumphant over Mars 4-2 on Monday.

 

Mars got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.

 

Lapina singled down the right field line following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped North Allegheny Freshman Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

 

A single by Pagnotto gave North Allegheny Freshman Tigers the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second.

 

Hunter stepped on the hill first for North Allegheny Freshman Tigers. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Garver stepped on the mound first for Mars. The pitcher allowed nine hits and four runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking four. Krapp threw one inning of shutout ball for North Allegheny Freshman Tigers in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

 

North Allegheny Freshman Tigers tallied nine hits in the game. North Allegheny Freshman Tigers's Tengowski, the number seven hitter, led North Allegheny Freshman Tigers with two hits in three at bats. Jativa, Lapina, and Pagnotto each drove in one run for North Allegheny Freshman Tigers. Tufts stole two bases. North Allegheny Freshman Tigers stole five bases in the game.

 

Myler, Ravenstahl, McCrea, and Walker each collected one hit for Mars. McCrea led Mars with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Mars turned one double play in the game. Mars didn't commit a single error in the field. Ravenstahl had the most chances in the field with seven.

 

North Allegheny Freshman Tigers will travel to Mars for their next game on Tuesday.
