North Allegheny traveled to North Hills High School on Thursday evening looking for a sweep of the Indians. North Hills came to play in the series and section finale as they jumped out to the early lead and defeated the Tigers by a score of 6-1.
The Indians got two runs in the first, a run in the second and three runs in the fourth to jump out to a 6-0 lead.
NA got a run in the sixth when Ryan Evanish doubled and Christian Simons walked. Evanish got to third and eventually scored on a first-and-third play to make the score 6-1 which would be the final.
Evanish was 3-for-3 for the Tigers.
Nate Surman got the start for North Allegheny going three and a third innings. William Schmidt threw the final two and two-thirds innings.
North Allegheny falls to 11-6 overall and finishes section play with a 8-4 record. The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday when they resume a previously suspended game with Fox Chapel. The game will resume at 4 p.m.
