Lucas Spence, the Muskies' rightfielder in 2023, got his second call up to the Houston Astros this week.  On Thursday night, he made the most of the opportunity as he homered three times and drove in five runs to lead the Astros to a 7-5 win over the Athletlcs.  The Houston victory let them maintain a first place tie in the American League West with the Texas Rangers as the two teams battle for a spot in the postseason heading into the weekend.

Spence's first homer, a three run shot, gave the Astros their first lead of the night at 3-0.  His second, in the seventh, broke a 4-4 tie to give Houston a one run lead.  His third homer, in the top of the ninth, gave the Astros an insurance run in what would be a 7-5 victory.  Spence's three homer game makes him just the third player in Major League history to hit his first three career home runs in one game.
