AZ STORM;
AZ STORM Basketball Program Founder, Program Director, and Head Coach Fermin Camacho, along with Program Director and Head Coach Martin Camacho built one of Arizona's longest running and most succesful elite youth basketball programs. AZ STORM was originally founded in 2010. AZ STORM has succesfully entered their program teams and competed for over 3 years in the 3Stripes Gold Circuit and The Stage Circuit to create many new opportunities and a stronger foundation for their Youth and High School program. The AZ STORM program works together with their Coaches and Coordinators to enter the teams into in-state competitive tournaments, out of state national circuits, and certified and live national competition. The program's focus is to continue preparing players physically, as well as mentally, for the challenges they will face in competition at the next level of the game. We believe in encouraging and promoting our players in their personal, education, and social achievements. We believe that success comes from a balance of preparation, awareness, training, and strong competition.
APPROACH:
The success of the AZ STORM Program relies on the committment of each player to incorporate a hard work ethic. We believe that how you perform in practice, is how you will perform in competition. This is one of the main reasons we promote a "game time" approach in all of our practices. Our Coaches prepare practice plans that highlight team cohesion, court IQ, court fundamentals, conditioning, team skills, and game time scenarios through skills and scrimmaging. Additional training is important and should include repetitive drills targeting shooting, ball handling, footwork, strength, and speed on the court. The intensity, effort, and hard work given by each player at every practice, training, and competition will give the player that "inner strength, endurance, and confidence" each player requires to compete and succeed at the next level.
We invite you to come out and experience our practices and/or take some time to come out and observe our players in a game or tournament.
We believe in our program, we believe in our players, we are STORM!
