Welcome to the BCC Women's Basketball page. This site is all about your Lady Dolphins basketball program the past, present, future and goals we wish to accomplish.
We are currently entering our11th season with the women's basketball team at Brunswick Community College. Dolphin basketball is making a transformation within it's program. We are establishing priorities to help players get a well-rounded education, earn a two-year degree and move onto a four year institution. Playing at the collegiate level opens doors of opportunity for these student-athletes. Our goal is to develop these young women so they may compete at the next level, both academically and athletically. We expect our players to perform well in the classroom, and to become a leader on and off the court. As a Lady Dolphin, our goals are to be successful and a contributing member to the college and the community.
The 2011-2012 season will go down for the most successful season in history in the Dolphins program. We finished fourth in the conference. Four awards were distributed throughout our program this year - All-Region, All- Region Academic, and Third Team All-American. Along with graduation one sophomore Chelsea McGowan went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to continue her basketball career. She is the first Division 1 player in the program's history.
This upcoming season we have a unique and exciting group of young ladies joining the Dolphins program. This group of Dolphins is ready to set a new standard. Speed, skill, and energy will be the calling card of this team.
As coaches, we are a dedicated group of individuals who are committed to bringing success to the our women's program. We look forward to this new and exciting year. We appreciate your support!
Go Dolphins!
