The Central Illinois Outlaws elite travel baseball teams
The Outlaws were founded in the summer of 2006 largely because during the 2006 high-school baseball season, the Peoria area enjoyed one of the most prolific baseball seasons in state history. The Illinois Valley Central High School Grey Ghosts went 40-2, won the Class A state title and finished the year ranked No. 40 in the country by Baseball America. In Class AA, IVC's fellow Mid-Illini Conference member, Limestone, advanced to the state finals for the fourth time in six seasons.
Despite this success, only five Division I college programs made it a point to make recruiting stops in Peoria: Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Illinois, Illinois State and Missouri State. So a decision was made. Since the college coaches wouldn't come to us, we would take the Central Illinois kids to them.
As an organization, our mission is to increase the number of high-school age baseball players from Central Illinois who reach the college or professional level by providing competition on a national level and to provide exposure to collegiate and professional scouts.
In the last 6 years our mission and our goals have been met as we have had over 40 players move on to play at the collegiate level and 3 players drafted. (See Signees Page) We expect that success to continue, as our teams have become very well known on the elite baseball circuit.
Outlaw Expectations
We expect our players to always give 100% on the field of play and display a passion for the game. As an organization it is our goal to be recognized by college coaches and pro scouts for playing the game "the right way". We expect nothing less than for the Outlaw brand to be recognized as such an organization. The players are a reflection of the organization, their coaches, their families, their communities, their high schools, and all who support the Outlaws.
