About the Cougars Competitive Cheer

The coaches of the Cougars Competitive Cheerleading Program Association (CCCPA) would like to welcome you to our wonderful world of recreational- competitive cheerleading! CCCPA (formally Harry Thomas Cheerleading Program) was established in 1998 by Mrs. Tameka Borges-Lott, who was seeking to provide a wholesome environment where physical & mental components of competitive cheerleading could be taught to young children in the underserved communities of Washington, DC. With today’s childhood obesity rates being so high, we are determined to help with the fight one child at a time. Our program uses five different parts of health-related fitness aspects including aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition using objective criteria.

CCCPA’s goal is to provide a place that is safe & exciting for children, by teaching discipline, health education, ethical competitiveness, self- esteem, teamwork and a variety of creative skills. We know all children can benefit from the knowledge of their current health-related fitness levels, along with a capacity to develop and implement strategies for personal improvement.

CCCPA is going into its 23rd season. This past year CCCPA was awarded numerous National Titles and several Regional Titles and looks forward to claiming many more! Although we pride ourselves with having a successful and winning program, this is not the most important aspect of our program. Our young athletes' self-esteem, Health, character development, and athletic ability growth is our main focus.

We want to continue to provide a facility where your children can gain confidence, good health, skills and have a great time doing so.CCCPA has continued to develop and produce successful competition teams and individuals every year. We’re looking forward to another exciting season! We accept all children ages 3-18.
